United Supermarkets Automates 92% Without Manual Review
United Supermarkets, LLC, is a Texas-based, retail grocery chain with stores in 49 markets across north and west Texas and New Mexico. The company was using an early-generation job scheduler for more than eight years. In order to continue to grow, United Supermarkets needed more flexible and agile data processing that could enable self-service access by both technical and non-technical users.
After evaluating three alternatives United Supermarkets chose Stonebranch Universal Automation Center for several reasons. With the help of UAC’s user-friendly design, web and Java-based architecture, integration of RESTful web services API to the already existing infrastructure, automated failovers, fault-tolerance, granular security definitions and more, the IT team realized their current automation requirements can be fulfilled easily.
Moreover, Stonebranch was the only vendor who realistically estimated the “automated“ process, explaining the need for added manual resolution for exceptions. The entire transition was done in just four weeks. “Completing the transition in just four weeks is a testament to the expertise of the Stonebranch Services team. They were knowledgeable with extremely fast and thorough responses,” says Jeff Bridges, Software Development Manager.
As a result of this United Super Markets were able to automate 92% of their utilities without any need for manual review. With Universal Automation Center, United Supermarkets has achieved a number of benefits, including the reduction in processing errors, easier maintenance, maximized uptime resulting in tremendous Return on Automation.
