Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH is Germany’s leading supplier of sparkling wine, wine, and spirits. Founded in 1856, the company has grown into a household name, operating across nine locations and managing a diverse portfolio of premium brands, including Rotkäppchen, Mumm, Geldermann, Ruggeri Prosecco DOCG, Doppio Passo, and Echter Nordhäuser.
To maintain leadership in a competitive consumer market, Rotkäppchen-Mumm continuously invests in innovation across its business, including IT. When the company’s legacy SAP OEM job scheduler reached end of life, its IT team saw an opportunity to modernize background processing and streamline SAP operations.
Challenges

The Search
Faced with the end of support for their SAP OEM scheduler, RotkäppchenMumm sought out alternative solutions. They evaluated several options through presentations and tool demos, aiming to find a powerful and flexible workload automation tool that could meet their growing requirements.
They selected the Stonebranch SAP job scheduler after a presentation and live demo of the tool, followed by a proof of concept (PoC). Implementation began shortly after the offer was accepted. The tool was deployed using transport requests and integrated directly into the SAP system with minimal customization.
Following deployment, Rotkäppchen-Mumm’s SAP Basis employees collaborated with Stonebranch’s migration experts to set up their first jobs.
The Solution
During the migration, the team discovered that one feature from the previous SAP OEM tool did not translate one-to-one into the new solution. However, Stonebranch support responded within 24 hours and delivered a fix via transport request. This quick and effective support during the PoC further strengthened Rotkäppchen-Mumm’s confidence in Stonebranch.
All the key features of the new SAP-native automation tool — such as job chains, alerting, scheduling, and system integration — were successfully deployed. The smooth integration and responsive support from Stonebranch were crucial to the project’s success.
Rotkäppchen-Mumm uses the Stonebranch SAP job scheduling solution to manage the following automated processes:
- MRP run: material requirements planning to ensure the availability of raw materials and materials.
- Invoicing for various company codes: Creation and management of invoices for different company codes.
- IDoc creation and dispatch jobs: Generation and dispatch of IDocs to optimize the data exchange between SAP systems.
- Dunning runs: Efficient management of outstanding receivables to improve the cash flow.
- Payment run: Execution of payment runs to ensure the timely settlement of liabilities.
- SCM processes: Control of supply chain management processes such as goods movements and inventory reconciliation processes to optimize the supply chain.
The Results
The Stonebranch SAP job scheduler exceeded all the requirements for a new solution. For example, email notifications can be easily configured for job aborts or timeouts, with no additional development effort required. Connecting a test environment is straightforward, and the calendar-based scheduling offers extended planning options.
The intuitive, familiar UI further adds to the tool’s advantages. As a result, the modern SAP automation solution has not only improved efficiency but also enhanced the flexibility and reliability of background processing.
