Atlanta, GA | April 13, 2015 - Stonebranch Inc., the leading provider of modern workload automation solutions, has joined the Open Source Business Foundation e.V. (OSBF). The OSBF is a Europe-wide open source network founded in 2006 in Nuremberg, Germany. In early 2015, the foundation includes approximately 150 members from Europe and the United States, ranging from small and medium-sized independent software vendors, such as Stonebranch, to large organizations like Fujitsu. Key topics include open business, open innovation and open technology that all rely on open source. The OSBF thus provides a broad platform to start-up and established companies that offers new contacts and in addition supports and promotes innovative business ideas.
For Stonebranch, open source software has always been a focal point for shaping the business and the product. Enterprise Linux distributions, such as SLES, are among the most important platforms in Stonebranch's growing customer base. Furthermore, Stonebranch's products themselves rely on and integrate with open-source products and solutions that share the strong quality commitments of Stonebranch's software. Consequently, joining the OSBF is just one in a series of planned initiatives around open source.
"2015 will be a very important year for open source business applications," said Dr. Detlef Purschke, Chief Operating Officer of Stonebranch. "We agree wholeheartedly with the OSBF's quest to bring about a paradigm change in the consideration and rating of open source software."
Stonebranch's Universal Automation Center™ manages workload and transfers files across enterprise platforms such as Windows, Linux, UNIX, z/OS, SAP, and Cloud-based applications.
"Open source software has changed the IT infrastructure to help companies standardize, reduce costs and increase quality in all business processes," said Richard Seibt, Chief Executive Offices of OSBF. "We welcome Stonebranch as a member to jointly strengthen the open commitments!"
