Atlanta, GA | March 23, 2017 - Stonebranch Inc., a leading provider of modern workload automation solutions, is pleased to be working with Bankia, a leading Spanish financial institution. The IT operations team at Bankia was facing cross-platform difficulties and challenges in handling and managing processes with the IBM Tivoli agent technology as well as growing diverse environments including z/OS, AIX, Linux, Windows and Solaris platforms. Bankia looked to Stonebranch's Universal Agent and Managed File Transfer Solution to simplify their automation process and immediately improve operational quality.
Stonebranch’s Universal Agent takes process automation to the next level by providing a truly universal technology that can be used with any of the marketed scheduling products, as well as third-party or even homegrown scheduling solutions. It is very easy to deploy and does not require APIs. Implementing Universal Agent enables Bankia to maximize scheduling investments and control costs without adding risk.
"With the very fast deployment, the seamless integration of Universal Agent and Universal Data Mover and no additional training, we avoided significant costs, time and resources," says Eugenio Gallego Martínez, Director of Operational Control at Bankia. “Stonebranch’s technology delivers a unified strategy for all our file transfers and enables a centralized management and orchestration of all our processes and data movements."
Since implementing Universal Agent, Bankia now runs tasks in multiple environments, including z/OS, AIX, Linux, Windows and Solaris platforms. The same applies to cross-platform managed file transfer jobs now handled by Universal Data Mover. Prior to switching to Universal Data Mover, Bankia had various solutions and always had one problem or another which, taken together, added up to one big headache. When they implemented Universal Data Mover, every single little problem was elegantly solved thanks to the scripting and the multitude of options available.
"Stonebranch’s solution is very intuitive, and we did not need training as we are able to use our existing Tivoli Workload Scheduler," said Martínez. "With the very fast deployment, the seamless integration of Universal Agent and Universal Data Mover, we avoided significant costs, time and resources. Stonebranch's solution enables a centralized management and orchestration of all our processes and data movements and helped us improve the operational quality immediately."
“The origins of Stonebranch are in its agent technology which was originally developed to solve our customers’ challenges managing their distributed workload from their host systems,” says Dr. Detlef Purschke, Chief Executive Officer at Stonebranch. “We are pleased to have worked with Bankia to provide them with a solution to this challenge and the various problems that they were having with file transfers. These seemingly basic capabilities are often overly complex and riddled with problems. Stonebranch’s solutions are simple to implement, easy to use, secure, efficient, and trouble-free."
