Solution Engineer with Focus on SAP


Stonebranch is seeking an experienced and self-driven Solution Engineer with a great SAP experience to work very close together with the Stonebranch Sales Team in Europe and the corresponding Stonebranch support teams.

Beside the expected high technical knowledge the candidate should have strong oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate an ability to interface with customers/prospects technical experts and different levels of management for extended periods of time. Candidate must have solid knowledge of today’s challenges in IT organizations.

The ideal candidate has also experience as a SAP base administrator who is capable of setting up the target systems from an overall SAP technology scale and is looking for a technical advanced challenge. The Candidate will be responsibility for all related pre-sales SAP business activities in EMEA. Preferable place of performance shall be the European headquarters in Frankfurt, or at the potential customer/prospect locations.


  • Research and understand customers’ business needs
  • Demonstrate, validate software fit and handle pre-sale discovery
  • Present proposed solutions to customers and prospects
  • Review, understand and qualify customer’s business processes
  • Develop compelling value proposition to identified needs
  • Respond to customers’ technical questions
  • Attend conferences and trade shows and generate sales leads
  • Handle sales requests on time
  • Confer with delivery team on design and solutions
  • Collect market and customer requirements on ongoing customer and prospect visits
  • Develop proposals
  • Suggest products, technical architecture and operational best practices
  • Attend to customer/prospect requests for information on RFIs and RFPs completion
  • Demonstrate to leverage best practices and offer insight into client business and industry verticals
  • Qualify and help close sales opportunities
  • Maintain account plan’s technical portions
  • Ensure successful pilot projects and product installations
  • Determine, resolve and communicate technical and business presales issues to presales management
  • Close accounts determined by sales and technical management
  • Assist regional business development activities
  • Install and maintain demos and software on presales equipment
  • Use corporate applications, emails and communication vehicles
  • Engage in product training to maintain high product knowledge


  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in pre-Sales/solution consulting role or equivalent job
  • Positive and professional demeanor, customer first mindset
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, proactive and driven
  • Demonstrated capacity and strong willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work in fast paced, changing environment with minimal direction
  • Strong analytic thinking and able to solve problems systematically and efficiently
  • Must welcome challenge and have problem solver mentality
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, strong time management and follow-up skills
  • Very good knowledge in the area of SAP batch processing (SM36/SM37) and CCMS functionality
  • Basic knowledge of SAP basis administration e.g.

    • User administration – setup and maintenance
    • Backup schedule, run and monitor backup of SAP
    • Transport management systems and SAP system copies
    • SAP Interface management

  • Beside the expected in-depth SAP knowledge the candidate should possess a strong understanding of several operating systems, including Microsoft, Linux and Unix
  • A good understanding of external Job Scheduling Systems (e.g. Redwood, BMC, Automic or others) would be an advantage
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Willingness to travel frequently
