The Product Manager will work with management, sales and other functional areas to deliver on the Company’s business and marketing goals. Specifically this person is responsible for product line management of existing and new solutions, sales enablement, pricing, profit analysis, customer segmentation and competitive analysis. This position works closely with marketing, sales, and creative teams as well as with IT, operations, and finance departments to ensure the profitability and success of products in the marketplace.

The role will include performing and coordinating market and product research to gain insight into industry and market trends, needs, competitive advantage and product perception. The candidate also should have experience in technology development, market segmentation, sizing and pricing as well as competitive analysis/product positioning. Also important will be experience partnering with the marketing and sales organizations as well as having demonstrated successful leadership in high growth and established companies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop product plans, including pricing and budget parameters, that define market requirements by communicating with customers, sales, operations and industry experts.

  • Development, analysis and implementation of customer segment product marketing plans to attract and retain customers through a client facing approach.

  • Understanding our core competencies and how those intersect with market needs to identify and map requirements and release plans as well as develop new versions, new applications as necessary.

  • Develop competencies of the Product Management staff to consistently deliver departmental goals.

  • Work closely with the sales/marketing/operations/IT/creative teams to map market requirements into detailed product roadmaps, including all post-release activities.

  • Ownership of product launch plans and activities, plus execution of launches in conjunction with Marketing
  • Accountable for meeting timelines and budget as well as revenue and profit margin objectives.

  • Perform and coordinate market and product research to gain insight into industry and market trends, needs, competitive advantage and product perception.

  • Stay abreast of industry, market, regulatory and technology developments to maintain product competitive advantage.

  • Conduct on-going competitive analysis and market opportunity analysis.

  • Work closely with marketing communications to express product message through creation of engaging and related product collateral, print and web content and training programs.

  • Act as product champion, advocate and spokesperson for the product suite by supporting internal departments as they sell, roll out and support the products globally.

  • Travel up to 30%; office will be Hannover, Germany

Experience & Education

Minimum of 5 years of product management experience with enterprise software solutions

  • Business to Business product management experience required

  • Strong leadership and proven cross functional management skills required

  • Experience required in technology development as it relates to new products or services

  • Experience with Agile development processes, preferably SCRUM

  • Experience developing launch communication and/or training programs desired

  • Must be fluent in both German and English

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • MBA preferred
